Hello! My name is Ciara McKinney, and I’m an honors graduate of Belmont University with a B.S. in Publishing. I work in book publishing and studio art, combining a love for storytelling with a careful eye for detail.

I’d love to help bring your story to life.

I offer line and copy editing for essays, graduate school papers, fiction and nonfiction short stories, and full-length manuscripts. My goal is to help strengthen your writing while preserving your unique voice and vision.

Editing is an important part of the creative process, but it should also be supportive and constructive. I approach every project with care, respect, and thoughtful feedback designed to help your work shine.

I’m an honors graduate of Belmont University with a B.S. in Publishing, specializing in book editing. My favorite projects involve copyediting and line editing travel memoirs and adult mystery. In other words, yes—I’m a bit of a grammar nerd. I’m the type of person who used to correct grammar in text messages (though I promise I’m kinder about it now).

Beyond publishing, I’m passionate about visual art. I enjoy drawing, painting, working with clay, and designing book covers. I’m currently interested in expanding into digital art and plan to begin teaching myself soon—though abstraction isn’t quite my style.

I’m largely a self-taught artist and didn’t take formal studio classes until college. Watching my confidence grow alongside my artwork has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I strive for excellence in everything I create—not perfection, but thoughtful, intentional work that reflects care and dedication.

In both my editing and creative work, I value organization, time management, and attention to detail. My creativity extends beyond visual art—I’ve also written personal essays and portions of a fiction manuscript, which helps me approach editing with empathy for the writing process.
